Making Democracy Work

Logo for the League of Women Voters
The League of Women Voters is a national nonpartisan organization whose purpose is to encourage active and informed citizen participation in government.

Through voter service activities, the League provides nonpartisan, factual information on the structure and function of government, voting procedures, and election issues.

The League does not support or oppose candidates or political parties, but it does take positions on issues which it has studied.

As members of the most respected, nonpartisan grassroots organization in America today, women and men in communities across America work together on the local, State and national levels to:
Promote positive solutions to public policy issues through community education and advocacy.
Build greater, broad-based citizen participation in the democratic process.
